We are meant to live in Neutral
Neutrality is a word that has always felt gross to me. As an empath, it meant not supporting or responding to the many ebbs and flows of the human condition. It meant a sense of inhumane detachment. As a passionate person, it also carried the feeling of a pushover, boundary-less robot, uninvolved or unmoved by the many layers of life’s journey.
After a strong transmission from a craniosacral training, careful reflection & observation, I now fully comprehend that it is actually a sign of a grounded, healthy nervous system to remain (mostly) neutral. It is a totally liberated approach to living. We are meant to live our lives at baseline in parasympathetic (rest or digest) response. Meaning, our energetic baseline is one at rest, calm or neutral. Our nervous systems filter through so much information in a day that could be perceived as stress: the less stress that is detected, the more contained and at ease is our being.
Being habitually hysterical, ballistic or even excited is a sign of a destabilized nervous system. Excess overthinking is the same. They are hypervigilant forms of care within a disjointed system. In essence, being carried away by emotion or mentality is a sign that you need to return to center, or neutral. Consider how it would be as a boater, rowing downstream with the wind in your sails on a mild day with minimal obstructions in the river vs. rowing in inclimate weather against multiple eddies. To be neutral is to be at ease, open and fluid; to hold onto emotional and mental triggers and upsets creates dis-ease, friction and conflicting dynamics within.
Of course, emotion is important messaging for us to listen to, reflect upon and follow. It is our intuitive lifeline. It is also confused when in excess. It is a protective mechanism, which is important to compassionately honor and work through and with which is equally important to not be carried away.
Consider that a nervous system based on trust and safety is neutral and stabilized. When you feel safe and trusting within an environment (in this case your own being), everything with which you come into contact feels as though it is happening for you; not to you. It is life. It is not stigmatized by prescribed belief. It is not easily swayed by external stimuli. It simply is. When your response is grounded in neutral, present gratitude of the heart: your life experience is true and rich. It allows for people to be who they are around you; it allows for your message to transmit more clearly. You are giving up trying to control everything outside of yourself through triggering internal mechanisms, essentially of fight or flight. It is a huge systemic relief to live in neutral. It is also a consistent, lifelong practice of trust and surrender.
Routine sound immersion, biodynamic craniosacral approach and other nervous system restoring modalities serve to support this peaceful way of being. It has transformed my life and I absolutely know that it will change yours, too.
How Routine Sound Immersion and Biodynamic Craniosacral approach align your being to neutrality:
Sound immersion effortlessly relieves stress and mysteriously transmutes, processes and clears outdated emotional or mental patterns.
Stress resilience accrues and is a natural byproduct of sound immersion and biodynamic craniosacral approach
Sound immersion invites ever deeper states of restoration with each subsequent session, never to return to the original baseline
Craniosacral biodynamic approach is creating safe conditions for the higher intelligence of the body to express, rebuild, reconnect, reorient, recalibrate whatever is necessary for clear & optimal functioning.
My invitation is to bring your arms closer into your torso; your legs to a resting point. A hand to your heart and a hand to your belly while standing or sitting comfortably. Feel that contained presence and closeness; rather than an active flailing of arms, fighting or reaching forward or back. Feel the natural ebb and flow of your breath. Feel the neutrality of simply being in place; held and allowed.
