The biannual Solstice (combining the Latin words "sol" for "sun", and "sistere" meaning "to stand still”) is the point where the sun appears to reach either its highest or lowest point in the sky, thus ancient astronomers came to know the day as one where the 'Sun Stood Still'. Whether you feel as though you are at your "highest" or "lowest" point in your journey, like the sun, we invite you to come as you are and shine your light with us.
Kayla Wallace, owner of Solstice Yoga Shala, will offer an energizing yoga flow intended to ready you for Sacred Soundflow. Together we'll honor our studios namesake and the sun on this lightest day of the year. Rise and shine, beautiful beings.
Ecstatic dance with Sacred Soundflow, facilitated by DJ Kick Stranger, invites a non-judgmental, joyous atmosphere intended for freedom to move and flow. Ecstatic dance involves no talking on the dance floor, no substance use and no phones! Simple, clear-headed, transformative fun!
Sound immersion provides opportunity to slow down and cool off from all of the movement and energetic release. Gong, singing bowls, chimes and handpan will bring a soothing meditative atmosphere to anchor you back into your being and deep restoration.
